Our Christmas

December has always been a month of joy for the family, friends, lovers, and especially for the children. The most anticipated month of the year which we consider a season of love and happiness. It’s already Christmas! Occasion that has influenced the hearts of everyone and gives meaning of what is called giving not only of things that are visible to the hands but also of the can’t be seen things that contribute to the need of longing love and affection. Since the last week of this year’s class is about to end, and even if I’m pressured by some other things like the making of projects and exams that should be done this year, still I’m enjoying every moment and every little thing here in MSU-IIT because I know after this week, I’m going back home and enjoy the holidays with my family. We actually don’t celebrate Christmas because of the religion factor. But I admit that I really love the character of Santa Claus. I love seeing lights that turn into different colors that are usually paired and surround to the Christmas trees which come in different sizes and styles. I love the star lanterns that I see almost in every house which reminds me every year that it’s really Christmas but suddenly I then realize that “oh! I’m not part of it”. But what I really love to see when this season comes are the people that work and came from other countries, provinces and cities but travel just for them to be with their family this Christmas. You’ll see how important for them this season is, that they give time just for it. And then that’s also the time that you’ll see the real essence of what they call Christmas. Although we’re not celebrating Christmas, still we respect this occasion as if we are part and celebrate it too. But how do those people who suffered most from this year’s crisis celebrate Christmas? This would be a sad Christmas for them. We should consider the fact that not all of us this year are having a good time. There are less fortunate than us that crave for more blessings. 2009 is one of the worst years if I were to describe. But now it’s about to end and 2010 is yet to come. Let’s pray that this coming year would bring us so much blessings and hope, especially for those who have suffered.
